Coaching Information

Coaching baseball can be a difficult task. There are so many aspects of coaching to learn such as how to run a practice, setting a batting lineup, creating your defensive strategy and just what to teach your players. Much of this can depend on the age group of the players. Here, coaches will find information that DABA hopes makes our coaches consistent and effective.

Baseball Coaching Tips for your First Practice

Creating a Great Offensive Baseball Lineup

Creating a Solid Defensive Lineup

Now, here are a few resources coaches might find helpful to organize their games and practices.

Download an Offensive Lineup Card
Keep track of your lineup, pitchers and substitutions with the above lineup card. It is duplicated so you can also keep track of your opponent's lineup and pitchers. You can simply print this and fill it out by hand, or you can actually type right into it and then print it and take it to your game.

Download a Defensive Lineup Card

This defensive lineup card is great to fill out before your game. It's meant to be hung up in the dugout so that all players know their assignment in the upcoming inning. One thing coaches often get tired of hearing each inning is "where do I play?". After each offensive half inning, coaches are surrounded by players all wanting to know where they should go in the field. By filling out and hanging up this defensive lineup card you'll avoid that and kids will know exactly where to go.
